This week, our office was alive with anticipation as Steve geared up to share his riveting insights into business development. Amidst the excitement however, a mysterious assortment of delectable chocolate cupcakes appeared, dropped at our door by a stressed delivery driver, undoubtedly working for Evri. With no note or indication of who the sender could be we assumed they were a thoughtful gift from a satisfied client, but things quickly took a dramatic turn.
As the team eagerly anticipated indulging in these tempting treats, disaster struck when Steve, unable to contain his enthusiasm, took a generous bite from a chocolate cupcake. To our horror, his delight turned into a choking emergency, prompting swift action to save his life. Josh and Donna raced to the rescue, with Donna, having recently completed a First Aid at work course, taking charge.
As Donna stood behind Steve and expertly administered abdominal thrusts, an unexpected object shot from his mouth, striking Jeremy square between the eyes. Steve dropped to the floor gasping for air. To everyone's astonishment, the projectile turned out to be a tacky looking penguin cufflink wrapped in paper, printed with a cryptic note – 'I know what you did.'
Jeremy, marked by a red welt from the flying object, promptly assisted Steve, who was now able to breathe, up from the floor. Thankfully, both appeared unharmed, although very shaken, and Donna ruled out the need for an ambulance.
The incident highlighted not only Donna's quick thinking and life-saving skills but also the strength and resilience of the team. In moments of crisis, the ability to come together, support each other, and act decisively can make a significant difference. Each team member contributes their own unique skills and strengths to ensure the wellbeing of others. It's a reminder that a united and supportive team can effectively navigate challenges and potentially life-threatening situations.
However, now we are left to deal with the implications of the mysterious message. Lingering in the air are burning questions: who was the intended recipient of this ominous note, to whom did that peculiar penguin cufflink belong, and what concealed secrets lay beneath the surface of our seemingly ordinary workplace?
